FARMING AS A BUSINESSToday most for the rural framers come to the centre for short trainings drawn from Lungalunga, Msambweni and Diani especially the passion farmers, Dairy farmers (Kidzo farmers cooperative – Dzombo location)) and traditional poultry farmers supported by the MESPT – Agribusiness development Services which has its local office in Ukunda.
On farm technologies is today reaching the farmers through players like the Practical Action who have used the centre to train the rural farmers at the centre on charcoal making and other technologies.

Ministry of Agriculture & MESPT have also used this platform to train farmers on the various agricultural best practice initiatives. Examples include conservation agriculture using Zye pits, multi-storey kitchen gardening in sacks & biogas-making – digester construction trainings for masons to be linked to rural farmers through the centre, among others
COMMUNITY HEALTH USING COMMUNITY STRATEGY
Other players are in the health sector like Population Services Kenya (PSI/PSK) www.populationserviceskenya.org and Strengthening community Partnership And Empowerment (SCOPE) www.scopekenya.org have used the centre to train community health workers located in 38 health facilities (Community Units) to use Education Through Listening (ETL) technique in Interpersonal Communication using door to door (one on one) and village-based small group sessions to pass information on disease burden areas of malaria, Diarrhoea and HIV/AIDs.
FAITH BASED INITIATIVES AS PANACEA FOR COMMUNITY HARMONY AND DEVELOPMENT
Faith Based organization have used this platform for their faithful in couples seminars, youth meetings, leadership training’s,(e.g FPFK Church Ukunda – advocacy initiative & development advocacy workshops ), Youth anti radicalization initiatives (MEWA and KEMWA supported by USAID through the Kenya Transitional Initiative Program) Christian – Muslim coexistence initiatives by Other Sheep Africa, among others

LINKING OUR RURAL FOLK TO FINANCING
Today various financial institutions are using the resource centre platform to reach to the rural farmers for training on financial literacy programs, SMEs support and marketing of their financial products that can be used by farmers. Among them is Equity bank with a net work of over 200 SME’s who have been hosted in the centre in various training workshops. Also among them is the Cooperative Bank, SMEP and Kenya Women Finance Trust (KWFT)
